Book Review: The Cabin by Angela Shori

by M. J. Joachim

Set in the Christmas season, this compact, short story is a lovely read for the holiday season, partly because it tugs at your heart, but more importantly because it warms your heart. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this little book, though I found myself wanting so much more, and believe the entire story could have been made into a beautiful novella, or even an amazing romantic novel.

There’s a backstory in this piece that warrants more exploration, there’s a romance that can easily be expanded on, and I wanted to keep reading. I wanted to read the back story and delve deeply into the romance. The story was good, so I wanted more. I know if there had been more, it likely would have been good too. Still, the story was good, so if you want a good Christmas story that isn’t your typical Christmas story, you’ll probably enjoy reading this one.

Since Thanksgiving is almost here, let me begin wishing all of you some very happy holidays :)
