Audiobook Review: The Hospital by Keith C. Blackmore

by M. J. Joachim

Intense, creatively dramatized, this short story took only about an hour to listen to, and was skillfully narrated, though without any special effects other than voices changing with each character. The plot was easy to follow, as each scene could comfortably be visualized. Transitions from one scene to the next were smooth and without incident.

The story itself was well defined and expressed, though I’m sure it could have done without all the cuss words, replacing them with more theatrical phrases that would have brought the story more to life. It was definitely expressive; I only wish some of the expressions were more fitting, since much of the foul language seemed to be more filler material, than actual essence of the story.

I enjoyed the story well enough, and was eager to hear how it played out. The climax to the ending was successful, and the overall satisfied feeling from finishing a book was achieved. I’m not inclined to recommend this one, but it’s an okay audiobook if you’d like to check it out.

Wishing you a wonderful November 3rd,

M. J.
