App Review: Left vs. Right

by M. J. Joachim

While there are technically tons of puzzles in this app, it appears to me as if they are all the same. The idea is to exercise your brain daily by performing these fairly simple exercises, where you match written colors words with colors, or colors of words with colors or various combinations of these activities, until you match all the words and colors correctly on the screen. Once you do that, you get a gold star and can play another puzzle.

Left vs. Right is an okay app for exercising your brain I suppose. It gets fairly boring after a while, and since all the puzzles repeat the same goal, it’s not all that entertaining or exciting. It’s pretty easy to get distracted and check out your surroundings, because the app isn’t nearly as engaging as some other mental apps. There are lots of them out there, and this one doesn’t really compete with a few of the ones I’ve tried that were so much more fun. It’s free, so you might as well check it out to play a puzzle or two once in a while, but if you’re like me, you won’t be playing it every day at all.

Best of Friday evening to you,

M. J.
