Blog Action Day and Human Rights

By M. J. Joachim

Today is Blog Action Day!
The theme is Human Rights.

Thanks to Kathy over at Giggling Truckers Wife for sharing this with me, when I visited her blog today. Hey, it’s not too late to join us … and even if you can’t participate today, you know what they say, “Better late than never…”

Dare I get political on you guys? I mean, is anyone else tired of sitting on pins and needles while these yahoos in Washington decide our fate? Politicians may well have rights, but so do the people who put them all in office!

We may have voted for different sides, and our candidate may or may not have gotten elected. That doesn’t excuse what’s truly going on. It only highlights and makes it all the more irritating to those of us caught in the crossfire!

Anyone who’s a writer knows that bill was too long and complicated. So is the tax code, btw. And because of this, a bunch of yahoos in Washington can split hairs over how to dot an “i” or cross a “t”? They can put our credit rating at risk, knowing they have the rest of the country by the short hairs, just so they can fight over who’s right and who’s wrong?

The politicians are wrong – ALL OF THEM!!! They’ve put our country at risk and violated our American human rights, without thinking of the consequences. They need to lose their jobs, just like so many Americans paying for their mistakes.

Responsibility and accountability…there’s an issue for human rights. (It’s not a bad writing tip either, btw.)

Be responsible. Be accountable. Be human and consider your impact on all the people you’re affecting by your selfish, stubborn and inconsiderate decisions.

Who cares if you’re voted out of office. You have enough power to pop up somewhere else and cause more tidal waves. Meanwhile, mainstream Americans continue to wake up every morning, gagging on your rhetoric. What do you care? You’ve got the best health care and job security available. You’ve got retirement, a home and future book deals. You’ve got it made, while the rest of us only hope and pray you’ll do right by us.

That hope is waning, and it’s waning fast!

Thank you for visiting Writing Tips,

M. J.
