Conversing in the Blogosphere

by M. J. Joachim
I owe a great big thank you to my friend, Lee, over at Tossing It Out today! Joined a movie blog hop yesterday – started hopping…TIO was on the list. I follow that blog regularly anyway. Hadn’t visited in a few days and the opportunity was there, so I took it.

Lee is one of those veteran bloggers who will teach you everything you’d ever want to know about blogging – except when you sign up, you have no idea you’re about to engage in a course on Internet writing. This is a good thing, trust me!

As a former teacher, one who believes learning is an experience (as opposed to…well, that’s some other blog posts for another time…I definitely have a few things to say about learning and education; they come from so many different perspectives too!)

So here I was reading his post on blog commenting. He discussed bloggers, visitors, conversation etc. Then he touched on a little thing called blog etiquette. Call me naïve, dense or a gazillion other things…never had it clicked like this before!

I first met Lee last year, as a newbie in his A –Z Challenge. That’s where I discovered the thrill of committing to making regular blog posts, interacting with your followers and enjoying myself in the blogosphere – as opposed to isolating myself with my writing & posting.

This year, commenting and blog conversation seem to be next on the list. It’s a learning curve, but hey, I’m getting there, one little baby step at a time.

Thank you for visiting Writing Tips!

Until next time, I wish you every good thing,

M. J.

  6. Lee is awesome! But yes, it's better to be social in the blogosphere than not - that's how you get to know people online. Great post! :)

    1. There's just something about sitting at home on your computer. The concept of cyber socializing is a bit of an enigma, until you finally understand, that is.

    1. My daughter was watching a movie a little bit ago. I won't spoil it by telling you the title. I was listening to it, while working on my crochet blog post at the kitchen table. Still have to get that one posted today - ran into a few "tangles" and had to rework my design a bit. Should have it finished and ready for posting shortly. All that to tell you, I'm bound and determined to watch that movie and add it to my Top 10. It sounded so good, and then when she told me what it was about...
